And so it begins. Or began. Not five minutes after I registered for BlogHer 09 I started thinking about what I would wear to the occasion. Mentally I cataloged my wardrobe, projecting forward what the weather might be (what my weight might be - whole other post!) and what image of myself I was hoping to project.
Being a fashion blogger, and self professed "Popshopologist" on my Popshopology site, I put a lot of stock into the social significance of stuff. Which is not to say I am a label whore or a brand snob. If anything I embrace too many styles. Casual, bohemian, professional, funky. Oprah may have coined the phrase, but I really am every woman.
And so I am obsessing already, about the details, and most of all - what to wear to the Swiffer Social Luxe Lounge?
Here are some dresses I have considered:
I would love to be able to wear a dress like this, even though I am quite sure it would not look well on me. I love the graphic pattern, the punch of orange and the ruffled neckline.
This Anthropologie dress appeals to my inner bohemian. It's a fabulous color for me, and I love the pattern. Of concern though is the need for "foundation garments". I'd have to budget at least one day to shop for a new strapless bra.
This Target Dress is the dress I am most likely to actually wear. The Maxi length is a nod to my Bohemian self but the solid color allows me to splash out on accessories. The $27.99 price tag doesn't hurt either!
What are you wearing in Chicago this summer? Got any more dress suggestions for me? Shoes to go with? Post them here!

so funny, I’m obsessing too!
I have absolutely no good suggestions however, which means you will probably be much cuter than I.
here’s to finding the PERFECT outfit.
Yeah. I am freaking. Anytime an event has the word ‘luxe’ in it- I freak! Cocktail dress? Heels? UGH.
I am just building my wardrobe for this whole blogher thing now.
I may need help to carry all my bags!
